"He's a fearsome dog that feeds off trouble and turmoil... I've seen him clear the deck of a Spanish galleon like it were nothing. Fighting like a devil, dressed as a man." ―Blackbeard speaking of Edward Kenway.
"You oppose tyranny. Injustice. These are just symptoms. Their true cause is human weakness. Why do you think I keep on trying to show you the error of your way?" ―Haytham's last attempt at converting his son.
"I realize now that it will take time, that the road ahead is long and shrouded in darkness. It is a road that will not always take me where I wish to go – and I doubt I will live to see it end. But I will travel down it nonetheless." ―Ratonhnhaké:ton.
So that is Edward? Can't say I'm happy about that. Before anyone tries to chew me out let me explain. I am NOT saying that ACIV will be a bad game, or that Edward will be a bad character. I bet both will be great. The thing that I don't like is that we are going backwards when it comes to the ancestors. Not counting the side games, the AC series has always gone forward with Desmond's ancestors and never backwards like how they jumped from the Crusades to the Renaissance to the American Revolution. I just don't like that and that's my personal feelings. I would have liked it better if they set the game during the American Civil War era. The combat from around then is (to the best of my knowledge) very similar to the American Revolution era.
